Paul Nipkow
Paul Julius Gottlieb Nipkow was born on August 22,1860, in Lauenburg, Pomerania (now Poland). While he was a student at the Neustadt, he developed what is now known as the Nipkow disk. The circular disk has holes in a spiral line for capturing the image and sending the picture to a light sensor. There is no evidence Paul Nipkow developed a prototype of the disk, but, later, the inventor of the mechanical TV got his ideas from Nipkow’s disk.
In 1934, Joseph Begun invented the first tape recorder for broadcasting - first magnetic recording.
